A Great Woman

by Jackie Marie   Jan 9, 2006

*This is about my Grandma. I wrote this on the 23 of December. She passed away on January 1, 2006 at 4:15.*

She’s been alive for over 70 years.
She has lived a wonderful life.
She had four kids,
And became a wife.

Never been sick her whole life,
Always the healthy one.
Not so lucky were her children,
Losing son after son.

But she holds on to the memories,
Of the good times they shared.
Through the good and the bad,
For her children, she always cared.

Lost her first husband.
He was in the war.
She still loves him to this day.
That is what a loving wife is for.

She lost her second husband.
Cancer is what took him away.
He was a great man.
She still misses him to this day.

Now she is growing weak.
This is from heart problems and more.
We stand by her everyday.
That is what family is for.

Look into this woman’s eyes,
And tell me what you see.
She is a great woman.
Soon, with God she will be.

He is going to take her away,
To a place full of mansions and such.
And when this happens,
We will all cry and miss her very much.

For she is a mother and a cousin,
And much, much more.
She is also my grandmother
Who I love so much and adore

You express yourself so well in this poem that I can see what a great woman she was.
    A fitting tribute.
