Passive Persistence

by Shane   Jan 9, 2006

The way you act
Can be likened to a child
making split decisions
irrational and wild
Once your favorite toy
now replaced with time
new and improved
a consumer\'s crime
But when that toy is donated
and enjoyed by some
you fight the little children
and tell them where you're from
That it's your right
to own that toy
that no one can have it
a selfish joy
And as others leave
to find fun rare
the toy is neglected
and longing for care
Passive persistence
in earning your past
has bought you
a love that won't last
And in the end
when you wonder why
no one would care
if you laugh or cry
Cause you lost that chance
and now you may weep
that the guy you love
isn't yours to keep

The sad thing is, this poem explains me exactly. Just lost the one guy I love... ugh! Great writing bud, sorry I haven't commented lately. I've been super stressed with trying to get my grades up. Just wanted to drop in and tell ya that I love your poems, and that you should definitely keep writing. I wish we went to the same school too, cause it seems we've got tons in common. *sighs*
