Why You Should Say Goodbye

by Truest Lies   Jan 10, 2006

Better suffer and say farewell,
To your dearest, closest friends,
Then just go,
Because you don't like goodbyes.

It hurts to say bye,
And never know if you'll ever see them again,
But one day you'll look back,
And it'll hurt even more then.

So take the time to give them each a hug,
Maybe a goodbye kiss,
Know that they love you,
Don't run away just because you know there's so much you're going to miss.

You won't be there when they cry,
Maybe you'll never see them again.
You won't share their secrets,
And they won't share their tears onto your shoulders.

But take the time to say goodbye,
And don't feel guilty if you don't manage to.
They will look back and they will forgive you.

But if you ever have the chance,
Give each of your friends a hug.

Even if you never see them again,
They'll always love you.

*A very good friend of mine has left the dance school to go and work.
It has been a big blow to me because we were best friends. It is strange that he now has to go and find a real life outside of the dance academy that is my life.

I'll miss you, Edu!!

Such a beautiful poem, and it gives out great advice. Always keep that friend in your heart, even though you are going to miss him very much. I hope that everything's alright... keep on writing hun, cause I love the style of your poems!

No, he said goodbye right after the function, with a big hug and all, very touching. I wrote it because I chatted with him later and he was pretty sad that he didn't get to say goodbye to everyone.
