Freedom

I sob uncontrollably
my body shaking,
my mind in over-drive

I feel nothing,
my mind numb
my body failing

I long for the peace
my mind has wanted,
my mind has never got

I draw my last breath,
my eyelids flutter shut
my heart stops beating

I am gone now,
my freedom granted
my family left to suffer.
