Becka's secret - Shift perspectives poem

by Kelley Joyce   Jan 12, 2006

I wonder if they know.
They couldn't know
Flashing fake smiles, and hiding the tears
Covering up the cuts and bruises, remembering
Letting no one completely inside
It's my life, my pain
My sadness, and my embarrassment.
"Don't ask or talk about it, it's not a big deal!"
That's what I tell my friends.
It is a big deal though, and I'm all alone.
