Collection of Memories

I sit on the beach
And watch the sun set
It's getting cooler now
But I don't seem too upset

I sit there alone
And I feel so alive
At my feet is the water
For freedom I thrive

It's almost as though
There's no one around
But I hear children playing
At the nearby playground

They seem so excited
They're all going wild
It reminds me of days
When I was a child

I remember the friends
I remember the pain
I remember it all
It's so hard to explain

So much has now happened
But I have no regrets
I'm proud of myself
It's as good as it gets

So as I sit on the sand
And look back on it all
It will just be another memory
To add to the wall
