Death's campaign (war)

by brown eyes and a melancholy smile   Jan 12, 2006

Death's campaign

In a burning desert of confused intent,
Greed of the powerful invades the chaste,
Soldiers trained to slaughter, programmed to defend
A nation misinformed, so many lives proved a waste.

While disaster upon disaster plague the nations,
War continues, innocence slain.
Simple lives are stolen, peace imprisoned,
Ignorant pawns of death's campaign.

War's a game, sought to be won,
An excuse to kill, stolen freedom of will,
Killing to the rhythm of a pulsing drum,
War is not necessary, nor is it right,
Killing mothers and fathers, daughters and sons,
Depriving broken families of their treasured ones.

War breaks lives, set to destruct,
Society approves though, we're all so corrupt,
Shedding black tears, enough is ENOUGH!

A very good poem, I support most of your ideas. War is however, necessary in some cases. IF you would like examples, I am more than happy to tell you :)
