Keep Pretending

by Danielle   Jan 12, 2006

I could keep pretending
Wearing this smile for all to see
Hold your hand, give it a squeeze
Whisper 'I love you' and gently kiss your lips
Oh, I could keep pretending

I could live out your fantasy
Tell you what you want to hear
Be what you need
Keep telling you, 'I'm so proud!'
And 'You make me so happy'
Oh, I could. . .

I could keep living this lie
Giving you my all
Being someone I'm not meant to be
Letting you believe true love has found you
Oh, I could keep pretending

I could be someone else for awhile
Pretending you're the one I want
The one I need
Make all your dreams come true
You, me and a little family
Oh, I could. . .

I could do all this
But do you really want me to keep pretending
That I love you?
