Your Way

by Toni   Jan 13, 2006

Bring me your pills; let them spell out a cure
And I would rather be dead.
I'll refuse them, and your pathetic argument
You'll find I'm not easily led

Your magic little 'happy' pills have got me tripping
As you spell out their names.
You see I've been there before, I've heard it all
And I don't play these sorts of games.

Intoxicating chemicals spinning around my head
Only cause smiles that are fake
And the way you're laying this down on me
Is really more than I can take

Demand whatever you need, do whatever you do
Your threats fall on deaf ears
Don't mistake my emotions for weakness
As you sit there watching my tears

There's more to me than you're willing to learn
And I only ever trust him
Shake my hand in that condescending way
Your pretence is wearing thin

Just walk out the door and don't you look back
Go away and play Mr Freud
I can't stand the sight of you, never mind.
These tactics you've employed

You love your power, but I'm in control
And that's how it will stay
Trust is fragile and you've broken that strand
I wont do things your way
