Pumping Heart

by Drew Gold   Jan 13, 2006

And i want to be as bright and high as a satellite,
reflecting my face
and the world
from which it was separated.

i want to be a disjointed concept
of love
and fill your head
with the weight of the world's
compassion
and not expect you to
kneel under its force.

i want to be the truth
you know you'll never obtain
while i long for a dry-spell
in such torrential
rain.

i want to be the blossom
of your doubt
as you eat me up
and spit me out

i want you to never forget about me
because i'm just a word
to a thought we've all had
and never expressed.

i want you to forget about me
so i can stop hurting
and stop bleeding my goddamn truth
onto these "friends" that surround,
separating
my meaning
from
your mind
and
throwing u-
s apart

and i want you to change your mind
because i haven't yet made mine

i stop

...and start again
so we can share
yet another moment
and maybe wonder why

so please
wont you please wait
for me
while i figure
out
what you mean
by
everything?

Wow! This is one of the best poems I've read in some time. You have such a unique way of expressing your thoughts. I really love how this piece goes full circle, just brilliant.
Take care and keep it up~Holly
