Death of a Mourning Dove.

Before you read this poem I want you to take to account that I really loved this guy, but I couldn't imagine him as very much more than just a friend. But, the experiences that we had is what I would miss.

Sometimes love can only be felt,
like a rose sometimes, it can only be smelled,
its not that one's important,
cause we're really all the same.
And no one's to blame.
no one's to blame.

When I first met you you were nothing,
more than just another guy,
like all the other guys,
that I could ever find.

But then you came closer and closer to me,
And I stopped getting scared,
as you looked up at me.
When you looked in my eyes,
I felt it again.
I want you to know, that it wasn't pretend.

I'm sorry our love didn't go perfectly,
I never expected this to happen to me.

And as we spend our last moments,
you holding my hand,
criss crossed, fingers laced,
as you leave my land.
I think back to the moments,
when we first started out,
I usually do this
to calm my heart down.

You look so sad,
darling why are you crying?
You're eyes aren't wet,
but inside you're heart's dying,
I know the feeling,
cause I've felt it before,
I just wish I knew how,
to make me love more.

Why can't you tell me,
why you're feeling so sad?
It's just killing me softly,
as I think to myself.
Never another held hand.

My love for you isn't there anymore,
and as we're growing together,
we're growing apart.
Falling away,
as I promise to you,
that in my heart you'll always stay.
And in my heart you will be safe.

So when you're feeling lonely,
just blow kisses to the wind,
don't worry dear,
I'm sure they won't miss.

And you'll have the stars,
and I'll have the clouds,
to guide us as we live our lives.
the lives that we were headed towards,
I'm sure we'll meet again sometime.

And every time you see the stars,
you can see my shining smile,
and feel my hand,
and hear my laugh,
as you just stare at them for a while.

And every time I see the clouds,
I'll remember when you saw them with me.
And I'll see you're face,
and I'll hold you're hands,
and I'll have a little bit of you with me.
