Second Dance

by Lost Soul 691   Jan 16, 2006

It's been six months since that first night
when I felt your arms around me
holding me so tight

This time was different, yet a lot was the same
as you reached out your hand
I felt you were game

You drew me in close, and I was just lost
cause you've been in my dreams
since the very first waltz

The lights were a lot lower and few were around
so braver we were as we
swayed to the sound

Your chest pressed against mine and I could feel
the beat of your heart and
the rest of the deal

Eyes held me spell bound, and the spice of your scent
weakened all defenses
I knew what you meant

Yes, I whispered to your questioning hug
for I was enamored
with my love bug

(about a special night Feb/05

Twas a night when we both felt like teenagers, living and learning for the first time ... so nice pick up on the childlke innocence. I enjoy your comments.

I like the rhyme on this-almost playful, almost childlike in it's innocence and sincerity(meaning the choice of words you use to rhyme)-yet it holds a hint of eroticism. It is obvious it commemorates a special night of love and romance-it has a magical, romantic, and wistful nostalgic feel to it.Great poem.
