True Friends Always Forgive

by Anthony   Jan 16, 2006

You've left scars on me,
I've left scars on you.
But the root of our problems,
Lie in what we say and do.

You secretly regret me,
And friendship that you give.
I know you want to take it back,
But if you do, I'll fail to live.

I have no idea what I am doing,
I have no clue to help me out.
I made some rash decisions,
And now I want to shout.

Denouncing our relationship,
Would cause us too much pain.
It's our fault that we are like this,
there's no one else to blame.

You've told me that I'm wrong,
That my feelings are unfounded.
Well how should I feel,
When emotionally surrounded?

You talk to each other,
And leave me out to stew.
Well who am I to go to,
When I don't even have you?

Friends for so long,
With many great plans.
But our future is uncertain,
Divided in our hands.

I think our lives will go on,
It's not like we'll fail to live.
None of us will forget but,
Are we friends enough to forgive?

You showed me this in school and I already thought it was great, I couldn't help but read it again.

Your poem writing skills have become unbeatble.

Your endings always leave me more breathless than the one before.

The ending to this one is perfect.

    Just perfect.
