An uneventful day

by Ruthie   Jan 17, 2006

I woke from my sleep
all ready for the day
I got to my knees
and started to pray

I thanked the Lord
for all he's done
than jumped to my feet
and embraced the sun

Nothing was different
Nothing not right
the only thing wrong
my jeans were a bit tight

But that's alright
I can deal with it
it's not like they were
a perfect fit

With a spring in my step
outside I go
loving each moment
as the day flows

As I walked on
I hummed a song
happy that nothing at all
was going wrong

When with my own eyes
I saw a cute ducky
waddling down
our street called "Lucky"

With a gasp
i jumped on the road
cause at that moment
came a truck and it's load

Just in time
I snatched him away
and ran to the side
of that roadway

As I petted
his soft little head
he quacked and honked
he was far from dead

There was no way
I could let him go
so I took him home
and watched him grow

Lucky and me
are always together
and I know
it'll be that way forever...

True story? Even if it isn't, it's very cute. I was afraid the duck was gonna be hit by the truck >.
