Consume Me

by Ruthie   Apr 23, 2007

What a day it was
i thought it wouldn't end
a million things seemed
to plague me at each bend

The looks and hurt
people threw my way
but i know that I;m not
giving up today

Instead i look to you
When all is grey
and life's a mess
i know you'll make a way

Like you did before
You remain the same
Even when I fail
You remember my name

Watching the slow decay
I realize that inside
They're slowly dying
With fake smiles pasted wide

I've become another
Ghost wavering around
And I'm not ashamed now
When my knees hit the ground

Consume me
I'm nothing to them
But everything to you

Consume me
I'm unstable alone
But everything with you

Consume me

W.O.W. I love the end. That was a wonderful poem. Have you heard that song "Broken and Beautiful"? It's SOOOO good. I don't know who sings it, but it's similar in ideas to your poem here. I love it. You NEVER cease to amaze me, girl! :D
