Curtain Call

by Tess Beautifully Broken   Jan 18, 2006

Hearts are racing
The sounds of chatter illuminate
The hidden passion of a star
The red of the curtain
Brings along the fear of curtain call

Words crash
One into another
Sidelong
Like careening cars
The fear of a mistake
Sings its sorry song
5 minutes until the show is on

Makeup is applied to dress the naked face
The love of the game
Brings along the excitement of it all
Just like waters falling

1 minute until show time

The stage becomes as still as night
You’re on
So give the world your part

The lights are shining on your dreams
All attention is to you
Live your life as if you are waiting for that call

Live by each scene
The play can only last so long
So close your eyes
Take a breath
And give the world your all.
