Wreck (pt 4)

by Momentary Relapse   Jan 19, 2006

Before reading pt 4 please read the first three~ Faith

He stares blankly at the pictures
Alone and abandoned in life
First by his only small child
Next by his loving wife

Every time he tries to explain
The past returns and brings his tears
No one understands his grief
Or realizes he is plagued by fears

Alone one night he weeps inside
Carefully loading the gun
He'd been contemplating his death
Wanting this to finally be done

Pictures are his only memory
Over and over he repeats that day
Lost deeply in the images
Drowning his mind within the dismay

His life has gone from bad to worse
All he worked for has ended in pain
What more is there in life for him?
There's no reason for him to remain

He chokes down a rising scream
Knowing his frustrations continue to grow
Closing his eyes he remembers their faces
The pain inside he refuses to show

A tear escapes as minutes pass
He's waiting for the perfect time
Slowly he clenches jaws tightly
Inside he hears a voice lightly chime

"Daddy, daddy look at me"
Small arms wrap around his chest
"I love you," she says laughing
He chokes putting his memorty to rest

Another one surfaces quickly
His wife laughs and hugs a girl
They turn to him nearly fading
And lost are the lips curl

With shaking hands he lifts the gun
His ragged breathing comes faster
Slowly he lifts his gaze
These emotions he couldn't master

Two loved ones had left
Leaving him in a blink
No words could bring them back
There's nothing left to think
