The Battle: heart against my mind

by Flying Phoenix   Jan 19, 2006

Again and again
I return to this place
Where I wish not to be
I didn't enter this race
But my heart plays tricks
That my mind no longer sees
Absence makes my mind forget
But my heart does as it please
For although I cannot have
What my hearts wants so bad
It doesnt stop this ache
That's driving me mad
My mind rages a war
Over my selfish heart
Sharp stabs in my chest
Each sudden as a dart
This savage battle continues
Neither willing to give in
Both forgetting how this fight
Did start to begin
He still lives there
Whilst my own battle goes on
Inside myself, forsaken at war
My love is turned upon
