Snow White In Medusa's Clothes

by x_Zoey_Survivor_1987_x   Jan 23, 2006

Her moonless hair creeps down her back
fizzling into blood red flames
her eyes glazed over, as wide as a child
trying to cover their pain.
a small button nose
and lips like a rose
a modern day snow white in Medusa's clothes.

long hands pushed deeply
in the arch of her back
flexing her bones the wrong way
and to touch; cold as stone.

her doleful, bedraggled clothes
loosely hanging like apples on a tree
black, like her hair, and of course,
like her woes

life had been locked
in a box far away
although heart still pumped
and mind still strayed.

now heart and mind
switched off at the mains
and simply a memory is left
and slowly, slowly
the pain will fade,
the pain will fade.
