Misunderstood

Where do you turn,
when everybody has let you down.
And people wonder why,
I'm always walking around with a frown.

Everyone just tells me,
the things I want to hear.
But all I really need,
is for someone to be near.

I fear a lot of things,
especially heartache.
Once you start you can't stop,
and this is all I can take.

Everyone has left me,
and there are still more to go.
There must be something wrong with me,
because here I am again, at my low.

I don't understand why,
people treat me this way.
They don't take the time to understand,
"all you want is attention", they all say.

I just wish that they could spend,
one day in my shoes.
Then they would realize,
that I have everything to lose.
