Angels with dirty faces

by foxy cleopatra   Jan 25, 2006

Rows and rows of broken halos.
Their owners clasp each others hands,
Congratulating each other on how ruined they are.

Angels with dirty faces, broken wings,
A dulcet voice no longer sings,
They shred their wrists and shred their wings,
Dirty razors leave pain in rings.

Lines and lines of smashed up crowns,
Their owners stroke each others hair
Whispering about how destroyed their lives are.

Princesses, blood stained, on the floor,
Know they should stop yet do it more,
Obeying the metal, choosing it's law,
Leaving their skin bloody and raw.

Shelves and shelves of ugly masks,
Their owners swing each other round,
Playing in the darkness of their plight.

Pretty girls, the untouched few,
Cut themselves to mimic me and you,
We are the scarred, now they are too,
So that we know what they've been through.

"WTF? dont mean 2 b rude...but y do u get 2 b an angel? ? Like, what makes u so special?Aer the rest of us angels as well? Or is it just you?"

humm ok well i dont see how that comment cant be rude
just because i said "my" in the poem doesnt mean i am calling myself, personaly, an angel
i am not worth nor specail enough to ever be called one
all that was was a poem of my feelings i had at the time i wrote the poem
i felt i had fallen from something beautiful and pure, like an angel, and had ended up a destroyed being, a broken person
so i was really just trying to exspress and emotion, in no way was i trying to make myself seem to be an angel, nor was i trying to offend anyone (like you)
