It will never be anything more

by Brooke   Jan 28, 2006

We spent the best summer together
but summer came and went
and so did you
you might still be here
but you act as though nothing happened
like you never even knew me
that the summer was just a dream
the feelings we shared
the hours we spent
don't mean anything to you
but they mean the world to me
when we pass in the hall
I cast you a fleeting glance
but leave with nothing returned
you act as though we are strangers
that we don't even know eachother
like nothing ever happened
i write this so you can see
how much you mean to me
but i've decided to let you go
to play your game
to act like we are strangers
like nothing ever happened
that the summer was just a dream
but I'll still remember
the feelings we shared
the hours we spent
the moments that changed my life
and I will go on
always remembering
that it might have been
and it will never be anything more.
