Red Skies Below Us and Blue Oceans Above Us

by Jenni   Jan 30, 2006

I saved the world once...
but then I woke up to realize it was all a dream...
I was awoken back into the nightmare,
of all the fire and horror scenes.
Back when you held control of the world
You caused evil; you warped brains
You sat high on top of the world
surrounded by the eternal flames...

That was when my dream became reality...
I stopped you from making the world hell
we fought a long battle; with cuts and scars in mind
and in the end you were the one who finally fell.
In the end I was the victor
those pretty flames weren't surrounding you
you lost that control that you thought you had so well.
Your reign of terror was finally through.

I carried your limp body across the wasteland
and into a world of flames
where demons didn't care about angels
and where nobody knew your name.
It's such a pity that a creature so beautiful
had to meet its end this way
I'm sorry love;
sorry I couldn't have stayed...

I'm back in a world I saved
back in a world you once controlled
you've lost your wing my love...
and now your soul has been sold.
I'm so sorry my one winged angel...
but you just don't control the world
anymore.

"It's such a pity that a creature so beautiful
had to meet its end this way" You speak so eloquently in this poem. The wording is powerful and the message is clear and strong. Excellent job!
