I know what it feels like,
To love and then lose.
To feel so great one time,
And then have to choose.

To look at those pictures,
And cry while you sleep.
To wish there was someone
That would reach for you deep.

To find the right one,
And then in a minute,
They’d be on the run.

Oh how great it felt,
When that person was there,
But then,
Once you turn,
They leave with no care.

I know what it feels like,
To be so betrayed.
To get stabbed in the back,
And be left like a stray.

How is it our love lives,
Just turn out so bad?
One moment,
They’re happy.
Another,
They’re sad.

Love takes us down paths,
That we don’t want to take.
The people we meet,
The hearts that we break.

But then in the end,
It all turns out ok.
The dumpers,
The dumped,
They all go away,
And the people that matter,
Just happen to stay.
