Our Love is Lost

by gasping for air   Feb 1, 2006

I see you,
But I can't hear.
You're mouth is moving,
But it doesn't become clear.
I feel weak,
I want to lay down.
I can't breathe,
My heart feels like a ghost town.
You finish,
Telling me goodbye.
As you walk out the door,
You don't see me cry.
My heart aches,
I never thought you'd do this.
We were so happy,
So full of bliss.
If I could,
I would beg on my knees.
If it would make any difference,
If your heart I could seize.
I'm tired,
I want to leave.
I should have seen this,
But no, too naive.
What if it happens again,
What if another love hurts me like he has.
I won't go through this again,
Not like this was.
My heart has resigned from love,
My spirit from life.
I'll end it,
And oh the bliss, I'll never again have strife.
Gone to the world I will be,
With just one pull of the trigger.
I'll never grow old,
Never grow wise, never grow bigger.
That's okay,
Because my heart hurts too deeply.
And as no one will do so,
I will answer my own plea.
Up to heaven,
I will go.
Releasing my pain,
Letting it all flow.
Goodbye to all,
But most of all you my love.
And you can watch me,
Fly away like a dove.
