My Life Is Mine, Not Yours

by Ed   Feb 4, 2006

You got under my skin,
You pushed me around.
But I got over you,
Life doesn't involve you any more.

I realized this, I got stronger.
I fought you back, I got smarter.
Now you can't push me around,
I'm living my life how I want.

You can't tell me what to do,
You control me no more.
My life is in my hands,
You don't own me any more.

How dare you think that I'd back down?
How dare you think I'd break?
The malice in your voice scares me no more,
I just look at you and laugh.

This is my life, not yours
I'm rid of you forever.
I see the light, and it is beautiful,
My soul is shining without you.

So find another puppet,
My life is mine, not yours.
Your threats are nothing to me,
For I have broken free.
