Reawakening

by Chris Harding   Feb 4, 2006

Tomorrows always changing
We never know what to expect
As yesterdays ambition
Becomes the next days regret

Who shares this cursed fate?
Can we save ourselves?
Our souls?

To abuse the privileges granted to us
Whoring out our fathers generosity
Reliant on the kindness of his heart

Awaken from our ignorance
Trapped in the shed
Of this blue and yellow plastic heart
Pumping out the black lifeblood
Of this dirty civilization
Plead for their forgiveness
Until these dead eyes
Can see no more

G E T
To work on time
Last nights party has caused
This slowness of the mind

J E T
A weekend prison
With unpaid overtime

Lying and weak
A soul crushed victim
Of my own guilt

Can I save myself?

Awaken from my ignorance
Trapped in the shed
Of this blue and yellow plastic heart
Pumping out the black lifeblood
Of this dirty civilization
Beg for his forgiveness
Until their cold eyes
Want to see no more

I never wanted this
To turn out to be such a sad story
Just so obsessed
With going down in a blaze of musical glory

No end of sympathetic ears
To take my pain away
Whilst so frantically searching
For the one who will only come
The day I stop looking for her

A cavernous divide
That lies between
Two sides
Of one lives
Internal dilemma

Laid back, chilled out
Listening to his sorrowful symphony
A martyr of my own silent misery

Got to stop crying my heart out
For all the stupid shit Ive done
Theres nothing left to fear
Now Ive got nowhere else to run
No where else to run
No where else to run

Now Ive got nowhere left to run

The promise of happiness
The bitter sweet reminder
Of why we led the lives we did
And why we sold our souls
When we had less control
But this last time I close my eyes
To reawaken in paradise
