I was the girl who tried hard,

[and yet how could you think I was safe up in my room?]

I was the girl who wanted no more pain.
[you never saw what I'd really became.]

I was the girl who gave in,
[didn't you see my world slowly cave-in?]

I was the girl who looked in tack,
[don't you wish you could take it all back?]

I was the girl who took everything to heart,
[every mean thing you said, I still laughed.]

you saw mew laugh, you saw me smile,
[who'd have thought I'd commit suicide?]
