Memories (Holocaust)

by Lauren Waszkiewicz   Feb 9, 2006

This poem I wrote for my English class about the Holocaust so it does not convey a personal message

Memories of the long, distant years.
Memories filled with our cold, silent tears.
Memories of the good times which were destroyed.
Memories leaving our hearts as dark, empty voids.

Memories of the sleepless night and the starving days.
Memories of the hatred that keep us in a spaced out daze.
Memories that destroyed our love and our joy.
Memories of the shadows that were taciturnly deployed.

I really like your poem because it has to do with WWII, my favorite time period to learn about, were actually learning about it in school right now, your poem was very original, and really good, i've never read a poem like it, good job, 5/5
