Insomnia Has Won

by Sammi   Feb 9, 2006

I close my eyes but sleep does not come
I try to give in but insomnia has won
Silently going crazy in my mind
From being awake all the time
I don't remember what its like to dream
And have everything not as it seems
To lay down and fall asleep
Instead of having to silently weep
The dark wraps around me like a blanket
Trapping me in and I can't take it
Breaking me down night after night
Waiting for morning, waiting for light
More and more I'm like a lost soul
This lack of sleep is taking its toll
Walking like a zombie, alone in my head
Feeling like hell, acting like the living dead
My head has been pounding like I'm trying to break out
It's keeping me up filling me with doubt
If I could I'd go back to sleep
Never wake up, just fall in too deep

Can totally completely relate - you're not alone! Nice flow and rhyme in this, but I think just the general idea of being awake 100% of the time appealed to me.
