Us teenagers

Face up to the truth
face up to the lies
why can't you
hear our painful cries?

you laugh and mock us
and tell us how it used to be
do you think we're dumb??
do you think we can't see??

yeah we're a different generation,
yeah we've changed alot
why can't you see our dedication???
i don't want to be something I'm not

do you think we don't care??
about anyone else but ourselves
you treat us unfair
why don't you take a good look at yourselves??

i know we aren't perfect,
but at least we try,
do you see the neglect??
please, listen to our cries.

this poem is about every one thinking us teenagers are selfish, spoilt, rude, loud, every-thing, they need to be in our shoes!!
Plz comment, it means a lot to me

Definately have to agree with the message behind this poem. Very, very cool. I think we all know what it's like to feel misunderstood and I think this poem really does express the feelings of a whole generation. Things are different to how they were and being teenagers today, the things a lot of us day to day would, I'm sure, completey shock some sense into parents these days!

This is true,a lot of adults think that we "have the life" when they have no idea what we go through each day! Great job! 5/5

That really is how they see us. Which is retarded because if they say that they were once our age then they should atleast get a clue and give some slack ... great job!
