Happy Families?

by *Rachel*   Feb 11, 2006

Lying on a bed
crisp clean and white
the curtains are shut
after being kissed goodnight

a long day for her
a long day of pain
exhausted and acheing
blood not being the only stain

trying to sleep
but think whats just been made
seeing one thing appear
remembering what she wish stayed

she falls asleep
smiling on the outside
acheing in her heart
not forgetting how much she's cried

deep in sleep
the door opens slow
eyes searching the room
thinking what he knows

he sees her there
lying in the bed
remembering what he's done
zooming inside his head

walking over to her
watching her sleep
no more lies to say
no more secrets to keep

he looks around
into a big box
something in big white top
and little white socks

he stares for a while
smiling down
tears down his face
but not with a frown

picks up the baby
coos to his child
true what they say he thought
so soft and mild

she wakes up
her body lays still
she whispers 'will you stay?'
he mutters 'he will'

happy families
in 2 minutes flat
life would be so easy
if it went like that.
