Doppelganger

by Russell   Feb 11, 2006

A ghostly image in the corner of your eye,
but this being is very familiar.
You finally realize why,
because it is your Doppelganger.

It is just like you,
it mimics you all the time.
It has no other identity within view,
as it slowly will sublime.

It walks along side,
yet casts no shadow.
Mimicking you in every stride,
Behold your Doppelganger.

It continues to haunt me,
all night and all day.
It is said that my death I now foresee,
but now I can tell you, it won't happen today.
