Water
my friend
my enemy
the person i see
through and through
from underneath
distorted
changing shapes
warped through time
around my neck are hands
that keep me beneath the surface
denying my will to
live
screams transformed into spheres of glass
chest burning
breathe
my heart beats

suddenly I am thrust out of the water
and into the sky
into the stars and across the moon
see my reflection in the waters
below
only to see the face of the hands that set my free
to dance among the clouds for eternity
dissolving slowly
my eyes sunk deep into my face
melting warping slowly
I am elevated
my soul lifted
I look and see
but my sight has been taken from me
among with everything else
I am a raindrop
frozen in time
lost
falling fast
and spinning in the dark
chilling cold envelopes me
and keeps me safe from the light
the burning light
a light so bright
blinding
stealing everything from me
burning
I reach out to touch you
miles away
I cannot reach but i try
try to fly

across endless fields of light in the dark
guided by celestial light
I walk
each footstep
dragging the memories
every tear
drowning out the image of you
just a blur
on the vast horizon of the mind
a knife plunged deep into my heart
I walk toward the horizon
stumbling but determined to find an answer
looking for peace in the infinite line
stretched across the sea of blue
a disk of light fading fast

bleeding colors
pink blue red
my last r sight of earthly eyes
i fall finally
after so long peace
i hope
all was white
a thick impenetrable white
surround me
like an unbreakable fog
suffocating my voice
in the distance i see a face
eyes red as fire
voices spinning me
mocking me
teasing
wishing they could be me
tears spilling down my skin
burning my flesh
searing pain fills my soul
questioning my identity
how could this be peace
this place of white
I now long for the dark
against the white
faces spinning I reach out
my hand once illuminated by life
let me out LET ME OUT

finally like glass the white is broken
lightning and fire engulf me
across fields of light
i see your face ever avoiding my touch
i see other like me searching for an answer
why we are here
out lives have been stolen from us
hidden from us
darkness transforms to nothingness
