A Part Of Your Past

by Chelsea Renae   Feb 15, 2006

Suddenly things have changed
I've become just a part of your past
I've lost you to her now
I'm the part that didn't last

we were so young then
I thought I knew so much
it's been so long now
I'm still weak without your touch

I miss riding around in your car
you would drive with one hand
so that the other could hold mine
nothing was ever so easy to understand

you were my brothers best friend
calling for him knowing he wasn't there
just so we could talk for a little while
we were the perfect pair

I was so happy then
and you made everything okay
I have so much to tell to you still
there's so much left to say

seeing you with her breaks my heart all over again
I truly believed we'd stay together
but I had to learn the hard way
that nothing lasts forever

that night you and my brother were sneaking out
you went to my room and lifted my chin so I was looking at you
then kissed me gently on the lips
and that's when I knew

I wanted to stay in that moment
getting lost in your blue eyes
everything felt so perfect
and I believed all of your lies
