Beneath the band lies a hidden land

It holds the key to my life
Keeps me going... day and night
I keep it covered my dirty secret
And not telling any one unless they leak it
The black and white stripe across my arm
hides the crimson map.. called self harm
Going down my things is what they did
Found all the pills and blades that i hid
Now i keep it on my the thing that keeps my strong
That little blade.. helps me to carry on
It hides beneath the band.. just on top of my skin
It sits there silent.... holding my feelings in
Following me around
Just hiding... without a sound
Easy access to the blade
And the arm.. those cuts i made
For all the people who caused me hurt
For all the days i felt like dirt
For all the times i caused them pain
It plays in my mind over and over again
To get rid of all the pain
I cut in the dark not knowing where I'm slicing
