Anywhere but here

Oh the sounds of hearing
your parents having a fight
you try to block it out
but your mind still takes sight

you cant imagine them being apart
they always said together
they were one beating heart

hidden in your room
you can still hear them scream
hoping it will end soon
and praying this is just a dream

then you start hearing
stuff being thrown
the fight ends
but that night they sleep alone

why does this happen
almost every night
if they love eachother so much
why do they always fight?

maybe they love eachother
to much and jealousy rises
i guess thats what loves about
lots of diffrent surprises

but the next morning
when the fight continues
this boy sits in his closet
wrapped in a blanket so confused

a weeks gone by and still not a word
this fights been lasting quite a while
the boy knew this was a divorce for sure
not one of them would smile

this isnt what its supposed
to be like being a boy
your childhoods supposed to
be filled with fun and joy

not the sounds of
your mother crying
and the sounds
of your father sighing

this boy was so upset
and told himself he had enough
stole 200 dollars
and packed all his stuff

ran to the bus depot
finally without a care
ask for a ticket
a ticket to anywhere..
