As the Day lives on

by Lynn Anderson   Feb 24, 2006

As the day lives on,
we begin to wither.
Like a flower in the sun,
as the day lives on.

As the day lives on,
we begin to daydream,
about the things we'll never see,
as the day lives on.

As the day lives on,
we reward our consequences,
of things we'll never be,
as the day lives on.

As the day lives on,
we hide our passion,
of thinking no one cares,
as the day lives on.

As the day lives on,
we try to listen to ourselves,
but not to find the time,
as the day lives on.

As the day lives on,
we can only sacrifice love,
to be without you,
as the day lives on.

As the day lives on,
I'll think of you forever,
knowing you'll never remember,
as the day lives on.

I live on, without you.

Beautiful poem. I like the sentence structure and the content of the poem. I like the way you blend the title back into the stanzas. 5/5
