A beautiful disaster

by x livid lullaby x   Feb 25, 2006

Look, they say
how beautifully she smiles!
a beautiful smile
filled with angst and regret
plastered on a face of pain
a dead, emotionless, beautiful smile.

look, they say
so young and alive!
but why is she so dead inside?
hidden beneath the rosy cheeks
a heart of grief
rotting and cold
she’s at a loss of meaning to breathe.

she rips out her hair
her soft, glistening, gorgeous hair
insanity driven by surrounding happiness
enough to make anyone claustrophobic
wanting to kill that happiness
choke out its every last breath
she finds it hard to breathe
with her hands wrapped around her neck.

eyes so vividly green
yet so lividly blue
sparkling as she weeps
it appears even a heart
so hopeless and dead
still has a few tears to shed.
