What I've Learned*

by Anne   Feb 28, 2006

When all else fails, you've got to keep your head up high and look ahead at tomorrow. You've got to ask yourself, who do you want to be?
I dont want to be that abusive mother who beats her kid, or that cheating wife who disrespects her husband. And I don't want to be that betraying friend who cant keep her promises. Thats not me... I don't have to be those people. I don't have to be what Ive witnessed and what Ive experienced, but learn from the hard things Ive gone through. Who do I want to be? I want to be that loving mother, who would do anything for her kid. I want to be that perfect wife, who's worth making the little *sacrifices* for. And I want to be that best friend. That best friend who walks in when the world walks out, and knows how to stick to her word and keep her promises. Thats who I want to be. I want to become everything I missed out on having; a loving mother, parents who adore each other, and a friend who always cared. And when I become all of that... Ill tell them:
"/You are who you are, because of the mistakes you made yesterday. But I am who I am, because of the choices I'm making today."
