Overflowing

by Edgar Mayfield   Feb 28, 2006

I read a book
To my very bones, it shook
It was my life in words
It was every bodies life in the world
As I read, my soul was took
At my own life I began to look

Everyone has trials and tribulations
Everybody gives into their temptations
It showed all human flaws
And how everyone breaks moral laws
It's beyond conception
How evil we are in our own contemplations

This book that taught me so much
To my empty heart it touched
I'll take away the humanness in me
Something better, too high to reach
Something so great, to be as such
But I'm only human, and that's not enough
