Danger will be waiting

by Lauren G.   Mar 1, 2006

All journeys toward love have
Predisposition for failure
Just when my heart begins to swell
And feelings of happiness
Play upon my lips
An invisible obstacle in my path
Trips me and I fall
Shattering my hope and my heart
Into thousands of pieces upon the pavement
The one thing you need the most
Always seems to be the farthest away
All attempts to grasp
Our wildest imaginations
Always promise danger will be waiting
Just when your heart begins to entwine
With someone else’s
Tying you in bliss forever
An unseen obstruction lurking in darkness
Rips the union to shreds
Leaving nothing but broken dreams
And tiny tears upon the ground
The one thing you need the most
Always seems to be the farthest away
