Haunted

by Ashleigh   Mar 2, 2006

Cut me down just below the knees
With your serrated iron words I mistook for insight
So that you can justify
Regarding me like the dehydrated caked mud
Collecting in the hollows between your toes
Superior
Your shadows thrash at my insides
Smoldering my skull with illusions of distortion
Hemorrhage from the ears and eyes
Defeat taunting the trembling earth beneath me
As it deviates to consume the agony
Broken bones splinter and crack
My chest caves in
Devastation, the angels bleed black
Demons manifest
Drugging my sanity
Gnawing at the ankles of apprehension
Saliva, venom nourishing my nightmare
Like ice into the fire
Cold and unforgiving
You heave my soul back into my body
And give my suffering a new beginning
