Isn't It Funny?

by Sarah Davis   Mar 2, 2006

Isn't it funny how we covet what we can't have?
Why is it we want when we know it will be denied?
I don't ask for much in this life,
All I want is you in my arms.
But that life is gone.
Though I'm with someone new,
I still love you so.

For once I wish you would look into my eyes,
Only then could you see the pain you've caused.
Maybe then you would sympathize me and take me back?
How could you say you loved me so?
You've replaced me so fast I find it untrue,
What you said you felt were lies.

I thought you were my special one,
You sitll are deep within my heart.
You're the one I still look up to,
When I lay awake on sleepless nights,
My thoughts always wander to you.
Maybe you're thinking of me too?
Who am I fooling...
You're thinking of her, not me.
But maybe, for one moment you'll think of me.
And in that moment at least we'll have been thinking of each other,
Perfectly at the same time.
Just the way it should have been...
