Just me

[my first attempt at modern poetry... which is not ryhming... i was told]

the smell of the rain
relaxed the pain in me
it felt like living again
with the sunshine finding its way out

the rain still drizzled onto my face
closing my eyes to enjoy each drop
the clouds drew back
with the light shining high

couldn't help but think its was beautiful
like when we were in love
smiling for just the thought of you
was just simply good enough

but now its only me
along with the sun and the rain
but at night
the stars take your place
although it can never be the same
