Life? Or is it?

Lights blink and the machines beep along.
A life is at stake. Anything can go wrong. One wrong twist of a tube. An overdose of penicillin could mean their life.
Too much or not enough could be
fatal.
This is too much.
All the numbers, green and red.
A flash twice every second.
Are they too high? Maybe too low...
The machine pumps endlessly.
Into the lungs of the weak.
Yes folks, this is indeed life support.
Any moment might be the end.
Pull the plug or wade it out?
Tough decisions in hard times.
Will you make the right one?

What about all the "what if's"?
-What if she wakes up right as you pull it?
But the nurse doesnt here you say "STOP!!!"
-What if all he needs is a blood transfusion?
-Quite possibly...you're just on his breathing tube!

Life...a horrible thing to waste!
But even worse to miss by a second...
