Human Race

I really like this. I woke up in the middle of the night and wrote it randomly. Everything symbolizes something, if u think about it.

Somewhere upon a sunny night
the cats come out to play and fight
while birds twitter and watch the commotion
all moving together in a singular motion
the tears of a thousand hopeful hearts
fall to earth as they're torn apart
While a lamby lamb weeps in the snow
for a family she'll now never know
And the bustle of the busy city
Will not stop for one lost kitty
everyone wants to reach the sky
but most of us just live and die
like a group of athletes poised at the ready
we'll be set to win if we keep our pace steady
As time ticks on, mountains will become dust
and love will disappear, replaced by hunger of lust
and the unicorns fawns will lose their great horns
and eventually cease to even be born
while a girl all alone
will pray to be shown
how to find the light
coz its no where in sight
but shes only just one
another face under the sun
another in the race to be run...

This is really excellent, outstanding poem. It's always interesting that the most inspired poems always come at the most awkward times... just after your pens run out, on the bus, just after you've gone to bed, half way through dinner.... the usual... lol :P I really enjoyed reading this, much kudos to you :) x
