Melissa, this is a heartfelt poem. It hit home with me for reasons I won't go into here. Know this: As painful as that fire is, as black as the smoke is, if the flame of our dreams is put out, life becomes a bleak place. Keep the fire alive.

This piece is so excellent.The imagery is what first captured me-such fantastic and unique imagery!Upon reading it over for the emotional content-that is what really hit me hard-this poem struck a chord so deep inside, So touching and honest, I can just feel it.I can relate to this like a piece out of my own life at the moment.The first and last stanzas are just superb.Truly a heartfelt poem, excellent in every aspect.
