Rise

by Restles Soul   Mar 9, 2006

Picking myself up
Because I know no one else will
They don't know how
Looking at the pieces of me that I tried to kill

But oh well, I'll just fake another smile,
I'm getting real good now, I almost fall for it myself
I guess you never even look
I begin to think that for you I'm just another trophy on the shelf

Across the fields a golden ray shines yet again
A few moments ago I failed to believe that I'd see another day
Now I'm witnessing my mistake,
As the sun rises I can't help but feel the dismay

But your smile crosses my mind
And your shadow echoes across the hollow halls of my heart
Your presence gives me strength,
I swore that from you I'd never part

You give me a reason, make me live
Not because I have to now, but because I want to
I'll pick myself up ten thousand times if need be
And again witness this orange hue

I'll never give up for I know you're waiting for me
I can see you fighting to get to me,
I can hear you calling out my name
And all our tears engulfed in this sea

And only when I'll be in your arms will I let the storm fade
I'll never forget the love which you gave
To save me when I was falling,
And now I can hear you calling,
Nothing more than this feeling of belonging.
