Pain's Promise

by Shan   Mar 10, 2006

She looked at the gun on her bed,
And tears ran from her eyes.
She carved his initials into her arm,
And thought of all his lies.
As she reached for the gun,
She thought of the past,
Reminiscing the love,
That did not last.
He'd held her in his arms,
And whispered in her ear.
He'd kiss her softly on the lips,
And always hold her near.
Then he'd said it's over,
He didn't love her anymore.
It broke her heart that night,
When he walked out the door.
He had made so many promises to her.
Now she'd make one to him.
She knew he was the reason,
And this was worse than sin.
She put the gun up to her head.
She could no longer refrain.
But before she pulled the trigger she said,
"This is the promise of Pain."
Her parents found her later,
In a pool of her own blood.
His initials on her arm,
They should have known she would.
On the note they found,
This is what it said,
"This is pain's promise,
To run a bullet through my head.
I'm sorry for the pain this caused,
I never meant to hurt you.
And if you want someone to blame,
Blame him, Cuz he pulled the trigger too.
Once again I'm sorry,
But my life, I just couldn't claim
This is the promise I made to him.
The promise of my pain."
